Goliath Lost

So let’s get straight to the heart of it. What motivated YOU to enroll in nursing school? Was it your life-long dream of becoming a nurse? A sudden need for a career change? You heard nurses make ‘good money’? You love working long hours on little sleep and high demands with little thanks? What is your WHY? What Is the Real Reason you signed the dotted line, enrolled, and now get up at the crack of dawn every morning to go to nursing school?
Believe it or not – knowing THIS helps reduce a lot of the stress involved with nursing school. Establishing your WHY creates a firm determination within you to never give up, to not quit when your grades are sinking, the kids are sick, bills are piling up and there’s no time to even sleep. Thank God breathing is involuntary, right?

What are the forces driving YOU to stay in nursing school when you feel like quitting? What are your giants? Remember – David had a giant – a pretty huge one named Goliath and while Goliath is all scary with his 9’9” stature and all – we tend to forget one great big HUGE fact about Goliath…..GOLIATH LOST!!! What is your Goliath?! Whatever it is for you – don’t let it win – defeat your giants by knowing YOUR WHY, knowing the reason you wanted this in the first place!!
